Isaac Makhdoomi, a Swiss recorder player with Indian roots, fulfilled a childhood dream. Together with the proven baroque specialists from the “Ensemble Piccante”, he recorded flute concertos by Antonio Vivaldi.
Together with the Piccante Baroque Orchestra, which is made up of early music specialists from the Basel music scene, Isaac Makhdoomi takes the listeners on a fiery virtuoso sound journey to the Venice of the Venetian “Il prete rosso”. Like no other, Vivaldi helped the recorder to musical heights with his compositions for recorder. Stupendous runs alternate with beautifully sighing melodies, which not infrequently contain a slight hint of the Orient.
