Images rise up in us when we think of southern climes.

FIESTA – joie de vivre, exuberance and conviviality are as much a part of it as passion and a hot temper. In contrast,
SIESTA: the escape from the paralysing heat and the retreat into the shade, where calm and lethargy reign and everything comes to a standstill.

Musically, too, associations can hardly be avoided. Associations like those that occur again in Spanish or South American music.

Pianist Marian Rosenfeld delights audiences with her vitality and charisma as well as her virtuosity and richness of sound. Born into a family of musicians in Lucerne, she was accepted into Homero Francesch’s master class at the Zurich Musikhochschule at the age of thirteen. At the age of 14, she made her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich. In the course of her career she received further important impulses from Bruno Canino, Radu Lupu and Bernard Greenhouse. Her repeated encounters with András Schiff were particularly formative.
